On Sunday 14th September some members of Aycliffe Velo Cycling Club joined forces with other Cycling Clubs and individuals to cycle from Sniperley Park and Ride, Durham and back cycling 52 miles through Iveston, Wolsingham and Tow Law.
This challenging cycle ride takes in most of the hills in the north and west of the County and is certainly not for the faint-hearted. It is a pilgrimage for cycling enthusiasts given the name THE BEAST by test riders themselves because of the gruelling route.
To conquer THE BEAST is something to be really proud of. In the picture is Anthony Cox who was in the Newton News recently after cycling from London to Newcastle in 24 hrs and Jeff Masson who recently cycled Coast to Coast and also appeared in the Newton News.
