Catching up on a few races from August, on Sunday 6th, Nicola Darragh travelled down to York to enter the Allerthorpe Classic Triathlon, a standard distance race where she finished in a respectable time of 2:42:05, 30th in her age group. Closer to home at Ellerton Park near Scorton, it was the final Triology Mid Week Super Sprint Triathlon (3 of 3) on Wednesday 9th.
Crossing the line in first for the club was our very own chairman Andrew Sedgwick in a time of 43.07, 3rd in his age group. Ian Readman was next in a time of 47:29, 11th in his age group. Stuart Rimmer followed in a time of 49:10, 7th in his group.
Entering in his first triathlon Christopher Brown finished in 52:52, 19th in his age group. Rounding up the club racers for that day was James Wilson, finishing in a time of 54:56, a brilliant 1st in his age group.
Into September now, farther afield in Rotterdam, and Susan Brown representing Great Britain again, in the very technical race at the Age Group World Championships on the 17th of September, finishing 13th in her age group in a time of 2:22:23.
She was ‘over the moon just to be there’ and thoroughly happy with her result as this was her first time racing in the standard distance. A week later on the 24th, in Barnard Castle, four of our regular competitors competed in the Teesdale Sprint Triathlon.
Ian Readman crossed the line with a personal best time of 1:26:10, 6th in his age group. Next to finish was Alan Kellett in a time of 1:39:06, 3rd in his age group with Michael Casey just behind him in 1:40:35, 4th in his age group. The ever improving Anne Kellett was our lady of the day, crossing the finish line in 2:00:37, a fantastic 1st in her age group.
