It’s been a busy few weeks for Aycliffe Tri Clubs Triathletes who have been hard at work both training, racing and enjoying themselves at the clubs annual summer BBQ. In the first race of August Dan Halliday took part in the scenic Castles Challenge Sprint Triathlon at Bamburgh on the 3rd August. Dan completed the 750m sea swim 20k bike and 5k run in 1hr 21min.
The following weekend on Sunday 10th Diane Savage and Wendy Bake took part in the new Haven Point Triathlon held at South Shields. The sprint distance triathlon started with a 400m pool swim followed by 20k bike and 5k run. Wendy Bake finished in 1hr 21min followed by Diane Savage in 1hr 31min.
Next race was the Triology Super Sprint on Wednesday 13th with a 400m lake swim, 15k bike and 2.5k run, taking part in her first multi-sport event Julie Hoods who finished the race in 56mins also taking part Penny Johnson who finished in 54min giving Penny a new PB for this event.
Then on Saturday 16th August Graham Atkins competed at the Bass Olympic Distance Triathlon. Graham completed the 1500m lake swim 40k bike and 10k run in 2hrs and 43mins.
All the clubs triathletes enjoyed the events they competed in and will all be racing again soon!
