Newtonian, and Greenfield student Adam Ord took the 3K Darlington race on to lead from the front and win the Junior event at Darlington’s 10K event on Sunday 7th August. The 13 year old, a member of Durham City Harriers (Orange Army) was over the moon to confidently cross the finishing line first – in his debut at the distance. Despite the challenging blustery conditions Adam still completed the course in 10 minutes 21 seconds. Adam would like to thank his lead coach George Reid for all the support, time and laughs along the way, and thanks also to his Durham City Club and coaches. “This was a particularly well organised, enjoyable annual family event and we look forward to doing it all again next Summer” said his Mum. In Adam’s words his achievement was “Not bad for a track runner!” adam ord
