It may have been the 35th Great North Run last Sunday, but for John Burnside it just another day at the office. John has run every one so far and although he turns 60 in November, he’s showing no signs of slowing down recording another great time of 1hr 37m 13s.
Chris Dixon was first home for the club in 1:29:06, followed by John, then Susan Cranswick, 1:44:54 and Dean Barclay, 1:47:57. Paul Stretton was next to cross the line in 1:48:40, followed by Christine Mudd who ran for the Kids with Cancer charity and raised nearly £200 finishing in 1:49:53, and Clare Rose, 1:53:13.
Next finisher was John Heywood, who would have liked to have ran a few minutes faster, but the heat got to him and he was happy with his time of 1:56:25, followed by Sandra Collins 1:57:12, Angela Barrett, 1:59:13 and Amanda Heywood in 2:09:49. Beverley Phillippo was next to finish in 2:14:49 and Dianne Savage and Penny Johnson both finished together in 2:15:31.
Next was Kat Aspey in 2:18:16, followed by Craig Robinson, 2:23:36 and Liam Montgomery in 2:43:18.
Veteran racer Dave Thompson was next in 2:44:09, followed by Sean Lawless, 2:47:06.
Finally, Eve Doe was running for Scope and raised around £300 but after price matching from her employer should double that. In her first Half Marathon Eve finished in 2:55:03.
