Members of Aycliffe Running Club continue to ‘dip their feet in the water’ of triathlons. On Sunday the 12th of May Alex Lineton and Andrew Robertson took part in the Cleveland Sprint Triathlon at Stokesley.
The event consisted of a 400 metre pool swim, 11 mile bike loop and a 3.1 mile run. It was a blustery day but thankfully no sight of rain. There was a strong local field gathered from the North East, with a lot of competitors using it as ‘training’ race.
Alex was pleased with his performance, finishing under the hour, with a time of 59:34 in 16th place overall. Andrew knocked a minute off his swim time, was steady on the bike despite the conditions and finished with a strong run, managing to complete the course in 1:13:18 finishing in 85th position.
