Local rock band ‘The Unsound’ have been in the studio and produced their debut single, a great rock interpretation of the popular song ‘Crazy’ and it has been a youtube overnight success with 600 plays within a few days.
The Band covers lots of popular songs which they give their own style of rock twist to as well as writing their own material. The band comprises of talented local musicians including Aycliffe’s own Lee Wright (Lead Guitar), Lee is known for his guitar solos, he also plays Bass and Ukulele, he is currently studying and well on his way to becoming a great studio engineer.
Phil Smith (Vocals and Rhythm Guitar), Phil studied Creative Music Technology at University and now teaches, he also plays many other instruments including Bass and Drums. Aycliffe’s own Scott Wilson (Bass Guitar), Scott also studies Music with Lee, he plays other instruments including Guitar and Piano also finds time to work part time.
The final member of the band is, Aycliffe’s own, the very busy Tom Bussey (Drummer and Vocals), who also plays guitar, bass, keyboard and any other instrument he can lay his hands on.
Tom is currently studying further maths, music & music technology as well as finding time to play in other bands, busking and even teaching maths and music.

This weekend you can see the full band performing on Saturday 9th March from 9pm, in the Oak Tree, preceded by Lee, Phil and Tom playing an acoustic set on Friday 8th March from 10pm. Everyone is welcome to both nights and it is free of charge.
