Newton Aycliffe singers and performers will be amongst County Durham artistes appearing at Darlington’s Forum Music Centre on Wednesday 28th November in just the second public performance of a new musical.
“She’s Fired” is a ‘musical narration’ written by County Durham’s Bob Lowery and East Durham singer-songwriter John Wrightson.
It recounts the events behind the 1881 Seaham mine disaster in story and song. John Wrightson is well-known on the local live music circuit, regularly appearing at Newton Aycliffe’s popular Candlelite Club, which meets at Moore Lane Sports Club on Tuesday evenings.
Also appearing are Newton Aycliffe – based musician Andy McLaughlin (another ‘Candlelite’ regular) and talented Aycliffe schoolboy Blake Reed.
‘She’s Fired’ premièred at the Sedgefield Festival this year and has transferred to Darlington’s Forum following demands for a repeat performance.
This is a great chance to see a show commemorating the courage of Durham’s people and to discover a story worth hearing.
Doors open at 7 pm on Wed. 28th November. Tickets (£6) can be booked from the Forum, on 01325 363135
