Aycliffe have attracted bands from all over the country for the “Battle of the Bands” competition taking place at the Youth Centre. There are enquiries and entries from London, Kent and Hull as well as local groups and artistes from all over the region.
The “Battle of the Bands” is open for anyone to enter, bands and solo artistes. To enter contact “Aycliffe Music-Man” on facebook. The prize of a recording of a 4 track EP and 50 copies of the EP is well worth winning and is the big attraction as well as playing in Newton Aycliffe which is getting a reputation on the music scene.
This Saturday sees the start of the Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre’s regular monthly discos for 14’s and under at 2pm, 18’s and under  at 5:30pm. Great idea by the Youthy to provide some secure fun for the youngsters of Aycliffe.
