What a great show the young Aycliffe band “White Vinyl” put on last Saturday night at Planet Leisure. The lead singer William Kirton who is well known for entertaining the crowds in Aycliffe for a number of years, was well up for the gig and on top form.
Steven Grainger made sure he got the focus with some great solo displays, wandering all over the room with his guitar. Local band “The Unsound” were watching the gig and lead singer Phil Smith was invited on stage to sing with William for a cover of “Guns N’ Roses – Nightrain”.
At the end “White Vinyl” was taken over by “The Unsound” with special guest appearance from AYTPs sound man Tom Bussey on drums for an unplanned rendition of “Whole Lotta Rosie”. Considering everyone was playing instruments they had never played before, it was good enough to win any battle of the bands competition.
Coming up over the next few weeks, lots of Aycliffe young talented stars in competitions starting with “Woodham’s Got Talent” with a number of AYTP members taking part.
We will bring you a report next week. Also in national competitions is AYTP singer “Alice Jordan” who has made the final showcase of “Autism Got Talent 2014”. She will be singing with artists from all over the world. Singer “Sophie Richardson” has got through to the regional’s of “Teen Star”. This is great honours for both hard working singers and we wish them both good luck in their competitions.
