Four representatives from GKR Karate in Aycliffe travelled to Sheffield to take on the rest of the country. We knew it was going to hard but we all trained very hard for this competition. Jada did very well in her Kumite, just beaten by half a point. Nathan Lovejoy is now National Champion after winning gold in Kumite.
Annalise Tinkler had a great day in a Kata for 3rd place in the Junior Black Belt Opens. She was 4th last year and had to keep her cool. She performed brillantly to take 3rd place and also took 3rd in Kumite, beaten by half a point, qualifying for Team Kata and Kumite. A team member had to pull out due to injury so a sub was put in the Kata to gain 4th place. Team Kumite took 3rd place. “I was so proud of them all” said Sensei Dez Tinkler.
