Pupils of South Durham School of Dance have done exceptionally well in their recent IDTA North East regional competition, with lots of pupils qualifying for the IDTA Nationwide Finals in Blackpool this coming November.
The North East area is one of the largest and strongest competitive areas for dancing in the whole of the country and Caroline Race, Principal of South Durham School of Dance based in the town said ‘The competition was really tough, across all categories.
With some qualifying heats containing more than 75 other dancers, with lots of rounds, so it was a massive achievement just to make the final 12 who would then go on to represent the North East at the finals, at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. I was really proud to see so many of my pupils not only reach this final 12 and qualify, but to see so many achieve top placing in the finals, including overall winners, was truly exceptional. I am one very proud dance teacher!’
