A NORTH-EAST software company is hoping that a move to Newton Aycliffe will prove to be the perfect location for continuous growth. Excelpoint, a successful software company, recently left its old headquarters in Shildon for a new base in the Evans Business Centre, on Aycliffe Business Park. The company’s software is already used in a wide range of sectors, including NHS, defence contractors and construction. Managing director Ian Brown said: “One of the key reasons for moving to Newton Aycliffe was to give us the room we needed to continue our growth. “We are delighted to have positioned our company at the centre of one of the largest business parks in the North-East.” Mr Brown said he had looked at several business parks before settling on Newton Aycliffe.
“One of the attractions of Aycliffe for us was the mix of businesses already here. We were very impressed by the sense of community, and we are hoping Excelpoint can play a significant role in it.” As part of the move, Excelpoint has plans to explore new markets and hopes to announce new partnerships in the near future. Their innovative software, which is already in widespread use, enables organisations to create unique business systems without writing a line of bespoke code. To celebrate the move, Excelpoint is hosting an office warming event on Friday, May 12, starting at noon. The opening ceremony will be performed by Mike Matthews, managing director of Nifco UK, and president of the North East England Chamber of Commerce.
