Dear Sir,
Having read the article in Newton News regarding the proposed memorial to the Aycliffe Angels by Finleys Steeel, I remembered that two photographs that came to light after the death of my mother Rhoda Waine.
She worked at the factories as one of the “Angels” and worked in the area where that terrible explosion occurred. She spoke highly of a woman, who she said rushed straight into the shed to try to help. I hope some use can be made of these pictures.
