Appeal for Support of Readers
Dear Sir,
I live in Woodham and we have a No. 7 bus that runs from Durham to Darlington every 15 minutes. They all go the same route to the Town Centre via Woodham, Agnew on to Burnhill Way and along Stephenson Way and then to Greenwell Road.
I have suggested to Arriva that at least two of these buses could go down Burn Lane to give residents a service to Tesco and Aldi.
This would be a great help to elderly people who do not drive. The route has bus stops and the mileage is the same and it should increase Arriva’s revenue on this bus.
Arriva replied stating they did not believe bus users in Woodham, and along this route would want the route to change.
I disagree and ask readers of this letter to support my suggestion by contacting Newton News or Arriva direct.Address:
