Dear Sir,
My name is Michelle Dodds and I am organising a fundraiser for a local family. My family actually, who have recently been given the devastating news that my Stepmam has cancer, and within a week of that diagnosis we were told it is terminal.
I’m hoping to organise a raffle to raise funds to help alleviate the financial burden, now she’s unable to work. But also help my Sister and God-Daughter, who are trying to organise a space in the garden for their Mam, Julie Bennett, to rest after her chemotherapy. She loves the sunshine and being outside and will be able to enjoy spending time with her family over the summer.
Julie really deserves this; she is a beautiful woman and everyone who knows her will agree. As a nurse she has worked in care for her entire career and worked through the pandemic on the front-line, holding the hands of those who needed it, when their own families couldn’t, without knowing she had cancer herself, so was at massive risk. We were beyond relieved that she never caught Covid herself!
Julie is a wonderful Mam and Granny to her “munchkins”.
I would like to organise a raffle, I know how much everyone loves a good raffle and I’ve seen how amazing our community can be when there’s a family worth helping.
So, firstly, I would like to ask if any local business would be in a position to donate something, no matter how small – whether it be a prize for the raffle, or materials, flowers, pots or ornaments, for the garden. I appreciate any help.
