Wayne Mark Seal was killed in a car crash on May 29th on the Cockfield Road. His Funeral Service was conducted by a humanist on 16th June at Wear Valley Crematorium where his many friends and family gathered to pay tribute to a very popular man.
Wayne was born in 1970 in Scarborough the third of four brothers Tony, Garry and Matty. The family moved to Birtley and then to Newton Aycliffe in 1972.
Over 200 mourners attended to pay their respects, many joining the funeral cortege in their VW’s Beetles, campervans, Karmann Ghias etc honouring Wayne and his business as a VW specialist, operating from premises near Windlestone Hall.
The procession, led by an old VW Campervan hearse, left Whitehouse Funeral Directors on St. Cuthbert’s Way though the town to pick up Wayne’s parents Sandra and Wally from Skirlaw Road, travelling by Woodham Golf Club and along the A68 passing by Wayne’s business premises to the Crematorium.
Ironically the hearse had just been re-built by Wayne the week prior to his death.
Everyone met afterwards at The Navy Club for refreshments taking the opportunity to reminisce on Wayne’s life and his sad loss.
