Woodham Academy Dance Showcase held on Thursday 28th April was nothing short of amazing! The audience including the Mayor of Great Aycliffe and her Consort was completely astounded by the brilliant performance of all 35 dancers.
It was quite obvious the all-girl cast had put a lot of work into rehearsal to attain such a high standard and Miss Kent, a recent appointment to the teaching staff, can take great credit and pride in producing such a wonderful show.
There were some extremely talented individual perfor-mances, but it would be unfair to single out those dancers for their particular skill as the whole troupe worked very hard together to entertain the audience with a solid and confident display of contemporary dance.
A lot of the solo numbers were choreographed by the girls themselves and they were both imaginative and spectacular. The energy and vitality of the acrobatic dancing was breathtaking and brought gasps of amazement along with tumultuous applause from those privileged to attend.
Well done girls – you were truly amazing and Woodham Academy can be very proud of these dedicated dance students.
