Take a very popular musical, bring it up to modern day, add a twist or two, add a talent show, and what you get is CentreStage’s next production, All GREASED up.
This production was originally in June 2003, so it has been re-worked and a decade later is giving another airing. As the title suggests, Grease will be the word, with many great songs from the great musical itself and a few extra numbers.
The story line starts very similar but does have a twist and maybe a turn throughout the story, without losing that feel good factor. We will certainly have you singing and dancing in the aisles, from the moment you arrive to as you exit at the end of the show, in fact you’ll be humming the tunes on your way home.
The show runs from 17th – 19th May, Fri / Sat evening performance doors open at 7pm, and you can dance along to all the fun, then the show starts at 7.30pm. On the Sunday, have some lunch and then join the party as the doors open 1.30 with the curtain up at 2pm.
This will be fun for all, and plenty to keep everyone interested throughout. The cost of this Show is affordable for all the family, £4.50 for Adults / £2.50 for the kids / concessions. We do offer very special £1 tickets for the under 5’s. Tickets are available now from the usual places, 01325 313363 / 01388 774838 or on our special web ticket page shildontheatretickets.webs.com.
The show was written by Andrew Timmiss who lives in Aycliffe, “I wrote this 10 years ago as the group wanted a feel good show, but something different so that’s where All Greased Up came from. The idea is everyone, from the cast to the audience have a great time, and during rehearsals we are certainly having fun with this production.
All our cast are from the local community. Tickets for the show are expected to sell fast so please order your tickets as soon as possible. If you are travelling through Shildon, our friend at Sweet Greetings in the main street (just near the supermarket) are selling tickets for us.
We would love to see you there, so until then get “All Greased up”
