New Friends – New Places Club held their annual General Meeting this week attended by the Mayor Mary Dalton. Ken Robson and Syd Howarth were among the guest who heard how successful the group has been this year enjoying numerous social events and outings.
Over 7 years the group, which meets at the Navy Club and receives GAMP funding, has grown from 10 to 50 members with support for people who live alone or seek companionship.
Each speaker congratulated the club on the service it provides and commended Dorothy Bowman, the founder, and Chairperson for her hard work in the community.
