Last Sunday Heighington West Green was the venue for an afternoon of music courtesy of the Bay Horse pub. The Reeth Brass Band and Bishop Auckland Pipes & Drums played a wide variety of music whilst the Richmond Cloggers gave a demonstration of traditional dancing.
The event was organised by Jim Semmence who said he was surprised by the success of the event which was enjoyed by a large audience of villagers and visitors.
The Reeth band are playing again this coming weekend at the Durham Miners Gala whilst the pipes and drums have just completed a tour of cenotaphs marking the centenary of the Somme.
