The Acorn Ukes took part in the Ukulele Jamboree Festival on Saturday 24th August having the privilege of opening the show at 6.00pm. Another nine groups took part until 11.00pm.
The event took place at the Duke of Scarth Hall in Staindrop and it was the first time the Acorn Ukes had played together in front of a large audience, good experience, as we have only been learning for just over a year. Twenty of the members attended the event with 16 playing.
The Acorn Ukes meet at the Youth Centre, Newton Aycliffe on a Wednesday from 1.30 to 3.30pm.

Our next event will be at the Neville Parade Wives Club on 21st October at 7.30pm in the coffee lounge.
