Popular Aycliffe residents group ACORN will be holding their regular monthly meeting on February 12th at the Royal British Legion, Commencing with a meeting of the junior group “little ACORNS” from 5.30 pm where plans are being made for future events and trips.
Feedback from a visit to South Lakeland Zoo on February 7th will be given to help the group improve
Plans are currently being made for the amazing Easter petting zoo which will feature all manner of animals and reptiles.
It is anticipated this year the amount of creatures will be substantially increased and various other pursuits will also be provided. If you are an animal oriented group such as the dogs trust, business selling pet food or community organisation wishing to meet the public we would welcome your attendance
The main ACORN meeting will take place from 6pm featuring our speaker for the evening Louise Harlandson who will be talking about the role of Durham Community Action in the community.
ACORN will also be discussing local issues affecting the local area with representatives of the police, town councillors and county councillors.
Consistently growing in membership since its inception in January 2012 ACORN regularly have 50 people attending monthly meetings and many more take an interest through Facebook and other media. . ACORN welcomes anyone with an interest in Newton Aycliffe to come along and join in the fun.
