Popular local residents Association ACORN announced at their February meeting last week the itinerary of the outings which are planned for this summer: Dates for ACORN outings up to July 2017 11th March Leeds Armoury 23rd April Whitby Goth weekend 13th May North Shields Aquarium 17th June Holmfirth; Last of the Summer Wine country and Skipton… Plans are also progressing for the forthcoming annual Petting Zoo event to be held at Newton Aycliffe leisure centre on Monday 10th April. As usual ACORN is throwing the event open to other groups who may be interested in promoting themselves to the public.
As an entertainment for young and old alike the event has been growing in popularity over the previous four years with small animals, bouncy castle, local entertainers, face painting and of course a photo opportunity with Syd the Squirrel and Spotty Dog. ACORN are keen to encourage other Newtonians to join the group and will be promoting events at the Petting Zoo, little Acorns will also be promoting activities which our under 18s are planning.
