Students from Greenfield Community College have celebrated their first term back at school with an awards ceremony, alongside parents and Subject Leader, Mrs Best. The group have been working hard as part of an’ ICAN 2021’ initiative, ICAN is an alternative curriculum group, providing a focus on life skills for students as part of their wider education. The celebration was particularly important as the group also gained the Nationally recognised Youth Challenge Qualification.
The nominees for the star award were Ellis Hudspeth, Sophie Williamson and Bradley Lauder, who had excelled throughout the sessions. The deserving winner was Ellis Hudspeth who was presented with an award for his outstanding commitment and hard work.
Students also had the opportunity to have a say in the awards as they voted for their peers. The nominations for ‘student’s student’ were Kieran Walton, Ellis Hudspeth, Kallum Bagnall and Bradley Lauder. The group decided that Bradley Lauder was the student that had helped others in the group most and was voted a worthy winner. Well done to all members of the group including the nominees and winners, “I am very proud of the groups’ achievements in such a short time and look forward to sharing many more successes with them” said Mrs Best.
