Durham County Council’s proposal to remove lampposts and lighting from sections of the A167 near Aycliffe has brought a fierce reaction from residents and regular road users.
The Great Aycliffe Residents’ Association is calling a public meeting on Thursday 19th March at 7.00pm at St. Mary’s Church Community Hall which can be accessed from the rear car park on Burn Lane.
Officers and Councillors from the County Council have been invited to justify this cost saving measure and answer questions.
Meanwhile readers can express their views on this site (comment below) for GARA to put to the meeting.
