When my son died suddenly I was faced with a funeral bill for which I wasn’t prepared. I found it difficult to get help, as he wasn’t a dependant. When I’d almost reached the end of my tether, I called the “Helping Hands” charity number 07936 431262.
I was given an appointment and the people who helped me dealt with me sensitively and said that because of my financial situation I was able to receive help. I was given household packs that really relieved me because having received these everyday items meant that I was able to concentrate on tackling my debts.
