Matilda Jr auditions are done and dusted and we are delighted to say we have cast all of our roles! A huge well done and thank you to all pupils who took part in this process. We were lucky to have had over 50 pupils audition for Matilda Jr, with many more applying to be part of the technical crew, and there was talent simply oozing out of the audition rooms. We now have a range of pupils from year 7 to year 11 who will be involved in the production, whether it be on stage or behind the scenes helping with props and makeup. This will be our first musical production since the pandemic, and we are hoping it is going to be our best one yet.
Kitty Wilson-Lee in year 8 has been cast as Matilda, alongside Amy Richardson in year 10 who will be playing Miss Trunchbull. The role of Miss Honey will be performed by two students on different nights; Josie Thompson in year 10 and Emma Kenny in year 8. We are delighted to have a range of pupils participating; for some it will be their first time acting on a stage and we are incredibly proud to have them be a part of it.
The excitement has now set in; at the end of last half-term we had a full read through of the script and music rehearsals were started. Students will be working hard behind the scenes between now and March to put on a brilliant performance. We are looking forward to staging the production over three nights in 2023, on the 15th, 16th and 17th March. It’s a show you don’t want to miss – we hope to see you there!
