Kathryn and Craig met in Bruggen, Germany when Craig was stationed there and Kathryn was working as a Nanny for an army couple.
Lance Corporal Craig Metcalfe is a Signalman, now with 1st Mercians based at Catterick, although his family home is in Rochdale
Kathryn Metcalfe from Newton Aycliffe is a Teaching Assistant, who, after returning from Germany until the birth of their daughter, worked at Longfield Road Academy in Darlington.
The Best Man was fellow Signalman Tim, based at Aldershot and the Bridesmaids were Kathryn’s Sister Kelly, her two best friends Gemma and Nycola, Craig’s sister Katy, and their 6 month old Daughter Isabelle. Nycola gets married in August and the roles will be reversed!
Ushers were Craig’s young Brother Jack, and his friend Paul who was reserve ‘Best Man’ if Tim couldn’t make it!
The Metcalfe ‘clan’ turned out in force from as far away as the Isles of Scilly, and the Bride and Groom were delighted that so many of their friends from far and wide were able to attend.
Kathryn and Craig are living in Newton Aycliffe whilst awaiting army accommodation. Craig will be leaving for a second tour in Afghanistan in September.
