On 29th May, Eric Stapleton from Newton Aycliffe; Michael Fitzgerald and Michael Brown from Shildon, completed the 100 mile London to Essex Charity Ride to raise much needed funds for MIND, the Mental Health Charity.
The event saw 20,000 plus cyclists riding through the closed roads of London, then on to Essex and returning to finish on Tower Bridge.
They completed the ride in 7 hours and 7 minutes, well under the allocated time of 8 hours.
The lads all said, “it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, chatting to many cyclists on route from all walks of life, raising money for many charities”.
MIND is a great charity with a fantastic website. They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. The final total of the funds raised for MIND is £3170.
They would like to thank everybody who sponsored them and for the kind support messages and well wishes.
