A teenager who constantly breached his Criminal Behaviour Order has been jailed for four months.
The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to breaching the order three times as well as the attempted theft of a motor vehicle and public order offences.
He pleaded not guilty to attempted burglary and a trial date has been set for July 13.
Another teenage boy, 14, is due to go on trial for attempted burglary and breaching his CBO on July 15 and was today made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 7am monitored by an electronic tag.
The two boys, along with another teenage offender, have also been banned from contacting each other.
Neighbourhood Inspector, Sarah Honeyman, said: “The whole team have, and continue to, relentlessly pursue those few individuals who act in an anti-social manner and commit crime in our communities.
“The result from court today will significantly reduce offending in our town and we are pleased the magistrates have recognised the impact these three boys have had.
“We hope these measures will disrupt the offending and as they are dealt with, we can find long-term solutions.
“I would like to say thank you to residents who have continued to work with us to tackle this issue and urge anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour or criminal offences to report it to the neighbourhood team.”
Newton Aycliffe Police Station, opposite the magistrates’ court, has a reception which is open to the public weekdays from 10am to 5pm. Response colleagues are also based at the station with the neighbourhood team covering the town 24/7.
