Pools Youth 6 v Aycliffe U12 Angels Yellow 2
Final league match of the season away to the league champions. A quick start from Pools and in 15 minutes we were three goals down but the girls battled to HT with no further goals. Despite a fourth goal, we then hit a ten minute purple patch and the girls suddenly found belief. Eloisa was moved up front and scored a dipping shot over the keeper from twenty yards. A couple of minutes later Pippa played a through ball for Amy to slot in at the near post.
However, Pools scored twice to take the points.
Kader 2 v Aycliffe U18 Girls 2
Another very windy match day as the girls travelled to Middlesbrough. The girls dominated with the wind behind but Kader have a break away and Alex and their striker collide on the edge of the box, the ref gives a free kick to Kader and they scored. HT 1-0. Second half Katie wins the ball, crosses low to an unmarked Ruby to slot in the equaliser. A huge penalty shout was turned down, but we take the lead after the ball is tapped home by Tiggy. The girls were definitely playing some good football but a cross ball splits our defence and the shot could only be parried by Laila and Kader equalise. Aycliffe carved out another three good chances but chose a pass instead of a shot and the were points shared.
Aycliffe U11 Girls 0 v CLS Gold 0
Aycliffe were unfortunate not to be a goal up after the first 10 minutes, when Lily’s shot came back off the post. CLS started to get a foothold in the game and made the remainder of the first half a much more even contest. The second half started with CLS making life very difficult for our defence, but they held firm. The final 20 minutes saw both teams create chances, but the result was a well-deserved and hard-fought draw. Managers: Alara, Players: Maddi.
Aycliffe U9 Wildcats v Washington United
Tough game in awful conditions for the girls. They battled the weather and the opposition in what was a really competitive game. All the girls were at their best in a game which could have gone either way. Well done girls, heads held high as always.
Aycliffe U11 Eagles 1 v Darlington Spraire 2
The game was end to end with both teams having chances, however, it was Spraire who broke the deadlock with a well taken goal. HT 0-1. Into the second half, Jamie tapped home for the equaliser. However, it was Spraire that managed to find a winning goal and take the three points. The boys should be proud of their performance though as they played some lovely football. MOTM: Charlie, Carter and Riley.
Kader v Aycliffe U10 Eagles
A tight first half but the deadlock was broken as Farris weaved in from the left wing to score. However, Kader scored a deserved equaliser just before half time. The Eagles breakthrough came via Lucas and they began to take a grip on the game as Tarek extended the lead. Kader again rallied to score their second. Then Sam notched two quick goals but all credit to Kader who rallied again to score again. A tense and competitive match saw the boys back on the winning trail. MOM: Tarek.
