Staff and students at Greenfield Community College are delighted to see the success of former students who are still very much a part of the Greenfield Community. The school have recently been sharing the sporting achievements of footballer Luis Longstaff who has achieved amazing heights in his sport and is currently playing for Liverpool FC U23s!
Now a regular in the squad Luis, 20, has returned to Greenfield to talk to current students about his experiences and support their studies, he is an excellent role model who has worked hard and shown tremendous resilience to reach his goals.
Students were able to catch up with Luis in an online Microsoft Teams call and had the opportunity to apply their current learning of Technology in Sport and ask questions to gauge the real-life impact in football on players, officials and spectators. Also in attendance on the call was Jeff Evans, a recently retired first class cricket umpire who was able to relate to the significant impact of the use of technology from a cricket viewpoint.
Students were able to understand more about both roles and how technology plays such an important part in sport, supporting their studies with life experience in an enjoyable and insightful forum. Thank you to Luis and Jeff for giving their time and making such a valuable contribution.
