It’s been a very busy week for us with admissions and releases. We have released quite a few, maybe six, with plans to release more by the end of this week, weather permitting.
We still have babies coming in and they are not alone with internal parasites, they do take some time to clear them up so if you see a little one out during the day alone please take action, bring him or her indoors out of the way of predators and they also need warming through.
It’s come to our attention that some people have witnessed children poking hedgehogs with sticks, this behaviour has to be stopped, be aware of what your children are doing, these mammals have quite enough to contend with as it is.
We have two babies in, both under 200grams, their progress is slow but progress is sure.
Weekly Tip: Ring the British Hedgehog Preservation Society for help advice, and a rehabber, if you see a sick, orphaned or injured hedgehog on 01584 890801.
