We meet at The Big Club every Tuesday 2pm until 4.30pm.
This group has been going since 2008 (11 years), during this time many new friendships have been formed between members and many of the members say that “it is the best thing I have ever done joining this group”. Most of the members are senior citizens, and mainly women, although we now have four men who joined recently.
If you are lonely, sit at home all day, lack friends, this will all change for you. We go on bus trips, holidays, meals at restaurants, theatre outings and much more, every month. Other activities include armchair aerobics, line dancing, quizzes and bingo. Once a month we have a musical artiste.
All these activities have been curtailed during the pandemic, but we are still meeting every week, admission is £2 and we are looking forward to everything being active again.

This group did meet in The Navy Club but unfortunately they could not accommodate us owing to lockdown, although they were asked and because many members wanted to meet up again, a new venue had to be found and The Big Club had the availability, thank goodness. At the moment we are in The Sheraton Bar, but will be moving into the big hall when alterations and heating are completed.
