An appointment-only visiting system at a new homes development in Heighington is helping to make finding a new home safer and easier.
The new system was introduced at Bellway’s Meadow Rise, off Walworth Lane to ensure the safety of both employees and customers following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Staff have found the new arrangements work really well, especially with interest in new homes rising post-lockdown, and having one-to-one appointments makes it easier for visitors to get the information they need about the range of three and four-bedroom homes on offer.
The builder has put a range of safety measures for visitors in place, including opening the doors for customers prior to appointments, providing gloves and hand sanitiser, installing Perspex screens, and abiding by strict social distancing measures – with one household allowed in the sales centres and showhomes at a time.
Darren Pelusi, Sales Manager for Bellway’s Durham division, said: “Keeping buyers safe is first and foremost our biggest priority.
“We’ve been receiving lots of positive feedback on the new appointments system, which has turned out to be a hit with both house-hunters visiting the development, and the team here when it comes to maximising efficiency as well as safety.
“The new system allows us to allocate time to individual households and give buyers an ensured one-to-one experience, which usually lasts from 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half.
“Interest levels have really gone up since sites have re-opened across the board, and the system has helped us to organise visits and safely show people around the showhomes and stock plots that they are interested in.”
