Greenfield Arts are connecting with the community and have commissioned a number of professional artists to take part in a series of inspirational videos. The artist videos form part of a call out for our new online exhibition, Made at Home, but are also a unique and thought-provoking insight into the work and lives of three professionals during these times.
Greenfield Arts hopes to inspire creativity and explore ideas with the wider community and support ways to reflect upon experiences over the last few weeks. The exhibition gives an opportunity to express ourselves by using what we may have learned or noticed in recent months and the initial response has been excellent.
The video series begins with artist Bethan Maddocks, a visual artist who is working as artist in residence at Greenfield Arts. Bethan describes how she works with paper, the materials she uses and the thoughts behind her work, creating a mobile reflecting the many aspects of life in ‘lockdown’.
Elaine Vizor, professional photographer, gives a personal account of her own work and experiences, sharing her inspirations, the simple materials taken ‘from home’ and examples of the wonderful results that can be achieved.
The final video features artist Jilly Johnston who takes a hands-on approach and explores the ways she has branched out during this time. The piece includes hints and tips with a workshop approach, sharing skills as Jilly creates her illustration online.
