Sedgefield Residents Association hold a “Welfare Reform Explained” Event, on Wednesday 29th May 10am till 1pm at Jubilee Fields Community Centre, Shildon.
Although the venue is in Shildon, it is for any resident county-wide. Transport costs could be met by the group if agreed in advance.
Phil Hanns has confirmed that he will be speaking on behalf of the Durham County Council and his presentation will be on how Welfare Reform has hit and the issues local people are facing.
It is envisaged that after him, livin together with other local housing providers will speak about how Welfare Reform is affecting their organisations and what, if anything, is being done, to help tenants.
A private landlord has also been approached to speak about how Welfare Reform is affecting the private sector. There will also be a question and answer session.
