TIME TO TALK EVENTS will be taking place up and down the country on Thursday 6th February 2020 to get people talking about mental health. Talking about mental health can feel awkward, but it doesn’t have to. On Thursday 6th February 2020 between 10:00-12:00 everyone is invited to join us at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe to find out more about mental health, wellbeing and resilience.
Whether you want to browse the information stalls, meet new people at the ‘Chatter and Natter’ tables or participate in a FREE mindfulness session or a ‘Colour Me Calm’ drop in group. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to ensure you have a lovely morning, and to top it off refreshments in the Garden Kitchen coffee shop will be at special low prices!
Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive, said: “People’s attitude to mental health could change someone’s life. 1 in 8 young people will be affected by poor mental health and 1 in 4 adults; and this could be any one of us. PCP aims to raise awareness and challenge stigma and discrimination in our communities. Simple things can really help: check-in with friends, family and work colleagues, be there to listen and keep in touch. When it comes to our own mental health and resilience keeping active, learning a new skill, spending time with others and making some time to relax can be really beneficial, looking after ourselves is equally as important as helping others.”
No need to book for this FREE event at the Pioneering Care Centre; we look forward to seeing you there and making ‘Time to Talk’.
