Local racer Scarlet Dunn drove her best ever race at Wombwell in Barnsley at the weekend.
In very wet conditions Scarlet drove absolutely brilliantly all weekend giving her a 6th place in heat 1 and two 3rd places in heats 2 and 3 against a very competitive grid of 17 other drivers. The results from the heats started her on the front row for the final and she put in a nail bitting performance. Scarlet lead for 95% of the 13 lap race but with only 3 corners from the end the front runners came up to lap a slower driver and Scarlet went one side and the second place driver went the other (Max Mason races in the British champs and is a very experienced top racer) so finished 2nd with only 2 seconds behind 1st place.
