A classic tale of friendship and discovery will be brought to life as The Secret Garden comes to Wharton Park this Saturday.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company invites audiences to join young Mary Lennox on a journey of discovery as she is sent to her uncle’s house in the countryside, where mysteries and secrets lurk round every corner.
As she makes new friends and encounters magical creatures, Mary has one burning question: where is the location of her uncle’s secret garden, and where has he hidden the key?
All ages can relive this enchanting tale of secrecy and curiosity through this outdoor production.
Darryl Cox, Durham County Council’s principal parks and countryside ranger, said: “Wharton Park offers a wonderful setting for this production, and it really is an experience for all the family. What better way to enjoy the summer light nights, and discover something new?”
The outdoor show starts on Saturday 10 August at 6.30pm. Attendees can set up their pitch in the park from 5.30pm, entering through the amphitheatre.
Tickets cost £16 for adults, £11 for a child and £46 for a family of four.
