Woodham’s Year 11 Art & Design Students, together with site staff and contractors have all been engaged in frenzied activity. The aim was to have the school’s new gallery area fully functioning with its first exhibition of student work before the Easter break.
Controlled assessments have taken place following the examination briefs and students are putting the final touches to development work in their portfolios. A spacious area adjoining the Art Department has been completely refurbished to provide the best possible surroundings to exhibit the work to its best effect.
Lynsey Tait, Woodham’s Head of Art, said, “After the success of last year’s Art Exhibition in Woodham’s Performing Arts Studio, we felt we needed a space to display student work all year long. I am delighted that the work has been completed so quickly. We look forward to being able to present the fantastic work of Year 11 to visiting examiners and then being able to open the gallery for public viewing during our annual exhibition on Tuesday June 25th.”
