Dear Sir,
I wish to object to the publication in Newton News of the letter headed “MPs Don’t Follow Their Own Laws”. Not only is it misleading, in that a referendum result is not legally binding and Parliament is entitled to not implement the result, but the language used in it is particularly objectionable.
MPs are not “traitors” for not wanting to ruin the UK by allowing a no-deal Brexit. And to say they should be removed by force amounts to threatening behaviour, surely?
To engage with the issues involved in Brexit is one thing; to publicly threaten others with violence is quite another and I am surprised that someone with such views is not also prepared to identify themselves.
Yours faithfully
Eileen Brewis
