Darlo FC To Sign a Champion Athlete
Quakers gave an outing to Justin Donawa from Bermuda in their friendly against Harrogate Town a week ago. Donawa scored recently for Bermuda in their Gold Cup match against the Dominican Republic and is looking set to become a regular in their national side. In 2013, he was chosen to represent Bermuda in the World Youth Championships as a triple jumper, and on a couple of occasions during the Harrogate game, he showed that prowess by rising high to head the ball.
He is the third Bermudan involved in the pre season build ups, following Osagi Bascome and Tehvan Tyrell, and all three of them are likely to be involved this Saturday, 20th July. Quakers have two games organised; they will send their strongest team to play National League side Halifax Town, and their second string to Richmond Town for a game against the Wearside League outfit.
After this Saturday, Quakers go to Northallerton Town on Tuesday night, 23rd July.
Meanwhile, there is plenty of interest in the club’s Football in the Community courses which are both being held in the Dolphin Centre over the summer holidays.
The club are holding Football Camps and Multi Sports Camps every week during the holidays, price £10 per day or £40 for the week. Details are available on 07903 614570.
