Aycliffe Squash Club’s championship finals took place at the Oak Leaf on Saturday 22 June.
In the ladies’ final, Karina Dixon comfortably prevailed over club stalwart Meryl Graham 3-0, to retain her title for the 4th year in succession.
The men’s final was a repeat of the last three years’ finals between Neil Ross and Nick Hill, and again this was a very high quality contest of fine margins, but the result was the same, with Neil winning the deciding game for an excellent 3-2 win, and Nick again having to settle for the runners’ up trophy.
Neil’s performance was all the more impressive given he had been quite badly injured earlier in the year and had been unable to play any squash for several months.
Well done to Karina on her fourth win, and to Neil, who has now won a record nine club championships.
The Club thanks its sponsors, car dealers Pulmans, for supporting the event.
