On Saturday 27th April Horndale Community Association visited Lightwater Valley. Everyone enjoyed themselves despite the weather being a bit wet, the upside there were very few queues to access the rides. This trip was subsidised through money generated from our GAMP funded trips, this shows how we get great value from our funding. We estimate for every pound we get in funding we generate approximately 30p-40p in funds to use on other events for the community. This trip was also supported by the Bay Horse, Middridge.
On the day we were joined by Durham City of Sanctuary who also took a coach full of people so in total 97 people enjoyed the community event.
On the same day Acorn Community Group held their highly successful annual Petting Zoo, Easter Sunday saw Junction 7 hold a community dinner for approximately 100 people, the 13th April saw Neville Community Association holding their Easter event.
Community Spirit have held several events over the last few months, plus lots of groups working across our town working for the better of others, I can’t think of another town our size that has so many groups making a difference to others.
Thank You
