I work for Citizens Advice County Durham, promoting the training they offer young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training.
We do this as a Delivery Partner with a European funded youth employability initiative called DurhamWorks (Durham County Council being the lead partner).
Previously, we have delivered the programme in Peterlee but have recently started to offer it in The Four Clocks Centre in Bishop Auckland. It runs one day per week, over 12 weeks (9.30am-4pm) and is FREE, we can reimburse travel costs and provide lunch. Other support to remove barriers to participation are also available (such as covering the cost of childcare, or taxis if required).
We can offer lots of practical support to young people, in getting prepared for and finding work. Includes help with CV’s, job matching, applying for jobs and interview preparation. Also, having fun with a small group of other young people facing similar challenges.
The next cohort begins on Tuesday 16th April and we would welcome enquiries from any eligible young people (resident in County Durham, aged 16-24 and not in education, employment or training).

We’re also offering a shorter course for those who really are very close to getting that job, just need a bit more extra support in making applications, maybe extra knowledge about a particular work sector and fine tuning their interview skills.
This 3 day workshop is open to eligible young people (as above) and takes place on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th April and Wednesday 1st May.
All our training takes place at The Four Clocks Centre on Newgate Street in Bishop Auckland.
