January has been a busy month for the Art Department at Woodham Academy. Art teachers from across County Durham have once again come together in the main hall at Woodham to discuss the work in the AQA exhibition which tours the length and breadth of the country setting the standard for the assessment of work at both GCSE and A-level. Over 100 teachers attended the event, including 6 trainees from Durham SCITT, who are hoping to qualify to teach the subject this summer.
This event is perfect timing for students and teachers alike as students start to produce work for their final exam projects this year. With questions ranging from “Natural forms” to “My surroundings” students are already working hard to ensure they secure the best grades possible this summer.
Woodham looks forward to welcoming you to their art exhibition in the summer term which is scheduled for 4pm-6pm on 26th June this year, where you can appreciate the outstanding talent of some of Woodham’s most recent young artists.
