Students at Greenfield Community College were once again enthusiastic fund-raisers for the annual ‘Children in Need’ event. Staff and students were given the go-ahead for a non-uniform day which in itself raised a huge sum as those involved paid £1 for the privilege of dressing down for the day.
Students willingly gave up their time at break and lunch to organise and take part in the many charity events that were hosted on both sites. This included some regular fund raising such as cake stalls, guess the number of sweets, tombola, as well as a spin on a popular classic – pin the tail on Pudsey!
The activities raised over £1,000, a brilliant reflection on the hard work and enthusiasm of staff and students to raise funds for such a deserving cause. Greenfield Community College are committed to supporting activities such as ‘Children in Need’ as they encourage and support students in their overall learning experience.
Assistant Headteacher, Mr John Richardson, helped co-ordinate activities and was thrilled with the level of support. “It is a testament to the staff and students who gave up their time to be part of the event, it is an important event in the Greenfield calendar, well done to everyone involved”, said Mr Richardson.
