Heighington AFC Under 9s, sponsored by MAF Plumbing, Heating & Gas Services, played a friendly against Byers Green Eagles. Everyone played brilliantly and the new look Red & Blacks deserved their first win together, finishing the match 5-2. There could have been plenty of other goals scored as many opportunities arose.
Byers Green Eagles are currently second in their division and their manager and parents were complimenting our players throughout the match. The referee also commented on how good they all were on the day. Four goals scored by Cole (7 in 2 matches now) and the other goal was scored by Joshua.
Coleby was in goal producing some excellent saves and staying alert throughout.
Ollie, Lily and Hayden taking turns in defence keeping it tight at the back with some really determined defending.
Midfield saw Oliver Y, Cole, Joshua and Finley (holding his own despite only being 6) working brilliantly together with plenty of skill and some excellent passing play.
Our striker was Oliver N who worked his socks off desperate to get his first goal with us.
